September 21th Maintenance
Thank you for always playing GensoKishi Online.
We will be conducting maintenance for the official service on September 21, 2023, between 5:00 and 8:00 (UTC). Additionally, during the same period, from 5:00 to 9:00 (UTC), we will also be performing maintenance for the Creator Sandbox(CS) environment.
The maintenance details are as follows:
■ Official Service
・Updating the iOS app and introducing in-app payments.
Please note that after the maintenance, you will need to update the app.
■ Creator Sandbox Environment
・Updating the GENSO Development Kit and adding Creator Shared Maps.
①Updates to the GENSO Development Kit
You can now select the appearance of NPCs and monsters from a list.
②What is the "Shared Map for Creators"?
Currently, only a select group of LAND owners with LANDMARK-type LAND and the creators they designate have been using the GENSO Development Kit to develop their LAND (for example, Hikone City LAND). However, to provide a broader experience of how one can configure their own LAND, we are introducing the "Shared Map for Creators".
After this maintenance, we plan to initially grant access to a small number of creators who will work on development for this shared map. (Please note that multiple creators can work on the same map simultaneously, which may lead to collision of updates, data rollback, or other situations where one creator's settings may be edited by another. We appreciate your understanding in advance. This is just a trial map for fun!)
As an entry point to this "Shared Map for Creators", we will place a teleportation stone near the Healing Spring in the Elrond Shopping District. Unlike the ongoing development of Hikone City LAND, this LAND will be publicly accessible in a trial capacity to anyone with access to the CS environment.
While these initiatives are experimental in nature, this LAND serves as an experimental platform for multiple creators' configurations. We aim to determine the implementation priorities of the development kit based on feedback received in this setting.
Regarding access permissions for the shared map's development kit, we plan to gradually expand access to a wider audience. Initially, we will start with some ESTATE-type LAND owners and moderators/ambassadors, gradually widening access in the future.
・Changes to the Durability Reduction Rule for Attacks and Skill Usage on Monsters
Until now, the rule for attacks and skill usage caused the durability of the right-hand weapon or left-hand equipment (limited to equipment treated as weapons) to deteriorate. However, players were able to engage in combat without reducing the durability of their weapons by simply removing them. This led to an imbalance between the rewards gained from combat and the repair costs (cost), which did not align with the intended economic balance.
Therefore, we will be implementing a rule change where, when performing attacks or using skills, one random piece of equipment from any equipped part (whether it be a weapon or armor, it does not matter) will be selected, and the durability of the selected piece will decrease.
・Reevaluation of the Durability Degradation Rate for Magic Knights
There are various professions within GensoKishi, such as those that engage in lengthy battles with enemies and those that deliver powerful, heavy-hitting blows. For professions that involve a higher number of actions, we have reduced the durability degradation per attack, while for professions with powerful single strikes, we have set a higher durability degradation per attack.
In the case of the Magic Knight, which was recently examined, it was originally set towards the latter category, but upon analyzing player data, it was found to be too harsh for Magic Knights.
Therefore, we will be making adjustments to reduce the durability degradation rate to approximately 60% when compared to the previous 100% durability degradation rate for Magic Knights. If you are using the Magic Knight profession, we would appreciate any feedback or comments you may have.
・Displaying User-Set Account Names on the Status Screen
This change will apply only to the PC (WebGL) version. We will implement the display of user-set account names on the in-game status screen. This will allow you to easily identify your account when making inquiries or seeking support, ensuring that we can provide you with the appropriate assistance. We hope you find this feature useful.
・Fixed an Issue that was Preventing the Backpack from Closing under Specific Conditions
That's it!
Finally, we would like to kindly request your participation in testing the Creator Sandbox environment and your cooperation in responding to the survey. Please use the provided form to share your feedback on the updates mentioned above or any other observations you may have.
While this is not a campaign, and there are no specific criteria, we greatly value your feedback. In cases where we receive particularly insightful comments or suggestions, we may consider offering individual tokens of appreciation, such as GensoKishi Online NFTs. Thank you for your support and participation!
We look forward to your continued support for GensoKishi Online.
