Hikone City Council Member Genki Kitagawa to join as a GensoKishi member!

We are pleased to welcome Mr. Genki Kitagawa, a member of the Hikone City Council, as a member of GensoKishi.

Mr. Kitagawa was the initiator of the recently announced partnership with Hikone City, and he has been instrumental in promoting both GensoKishi and Hikone City in concluding the partnership.

Mr. Genki Kitagawa will actively participate in GensoKishi in order to accelerate the continuous development of both the real world and the Metaverse, as well as advancing regional revitalization projects through the capabilities of the Metaverse.

  • Born on July 3, 1983 in Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture, Japan.
  • Elected as the youngest council member for the Hikone City Council in 2011
  • Currently serving his third term as council member

"I am pleased to announce the collaborative partnership between my hometown, Hikone City, and the GensoKishi Metaverse.

There are endless possibilities that can be achieved by the Metaverse sector and the Regional Development sector working together.

Local cities facing population decline will be able to approach the world in various fields such as tourism, products, IP contents, and more.

Through the GensoKishi Metaverse, people globally will learn about Hikone City, and by having the players actually visit the city in person, this will lead to inbound tourism, businesses development, and the revitalization of the region.

I am excited to create the first case study by having Hikone City be apart of the GensoKishi Metaverse, and ultimately hope to spread this successful model-case concept throughout the country.”
